Our Team
All good stories start at the beginning. For us that started when I was 15 years old. On a cold Christmas morning something happened that would forever change my life and set me on the course that lead to our company. In those long-ago,stone age, times before the internet, I got a Radio Shack 75 in 1 electronics kit from my dad. I did every single experiment and then went on to buy the 150 in 1 kit. I was hooked. They say that most college students change their majors 3-4 times before graduating. Not me I knew I wanted to be an electrical engineer long before I went to college. I had found my passion. All I wanted to do was to be the best engineer I could possibly be.
About the time I was graduating with my first engineering degree, I was working for a small research group called Hearts in Space. During the years I worked with them, a small tight knit group of dedicated professionals, I learned what it meant to be a team member. Each of us had our specialty; something that none of the other team members could do. And so, we all depended on each other to be our best. We all wanted to help the team succeed. And we did, wesuccessfully flew two orbital missions on the Space Shuttle, STS-85 and STS-95.
Over the next 20 years, I worked in great companies and did amazing things. Each day learning something new. I have worked in the mining industry recovering precious metals and protecting environmental discharges. I worked in aerospace where I spent 7 years developing a new guidance system for the Trident Ballistic Missiles. I worked in defense where we designed anti RPG systems and IED deflection systems under DARPA grants to keep our troops safe. And I worked in the sensor sector developing temperature and pressure sensors that are the most accurate in the world, for the oil and gas industries.
All of those things were great experiences and I learned and expanded my knowledge through them, but the most influential of them were the first two. Getting a hobby electronics kit and working in a small team where we all depended on each other. That is why I formed Celtic Engineering Solutions. I knew that engineering was not just medical, mining, military, defense or sensors. Each company has an engineering group. What I wanted to create was a place where people could come and bring their talents to benefit a client. When we start a new project, we put together a team that will best benefit our clients, not forcing someone into a mold by telling them what they have to do. We carefully select team members thatbring unique experiences and qualities to the team.
Our employees know that no mater what they do they should keep learning new skills and improving on old ones. They should be creative and innovative. They all bring a passion to the project and an enthusiasm that energizes us all. We stive to create a product that meets the highest quality standards. We conduct ourselves with integrity and work to ensure we provide the best customer service possible. We are not an engineering department for any one company, we are a flexible engineering department that can adapt to any company.
