The SF-5 is based on Microchips MCP4725 12-Bit Digital-to-Analog Converter with EEPROM Memory. It has 12-bit resolution and accepts supply voltages between 2.7V and 5.5V. It communicates using a 2-wire interface compatible with I2CTM. It comes with one jumper to allow the user to select between two available addresses. It has onboard non-volatile memory that allows the storage of the 2 power down configuration bits and the DAC register. On power up the DAC register is read and this what the voltage placed on the output pin. It has rail-to-rail output with low power consumption. It uses VDD as the external voltage reference. It has three speed modes Standard (100 kbps), Fast (400 kbps), andHigh-Speed (3.4 Mbps).
